"Cat's Milk" receives a couple of good reviews

Besides Smashwords, I also put the story on a few other websites, Booksie and Writer's Cafe.

So far, "Cat's Milk" has received two reviews, one on the Smashwords page and one on Booksie.  Both of them are positive, so I'm delighted.  Also, both reviews come from other writers, and looking at their stuff, I think they are amazing people from whom to get a review.  Be sure to go check out their works as well.

I had only planned for 100 or so to read this story, but after reaching that number in about a week, I can clearly see I'll be getting more than that!

Published short story "Cat's Milk" on Smashwords

I finally got around to getting one of my stories published.  It is currently available on smashwords.com.  Cat's Milk is the kind of demented story that only demented people could truly love.  And it's also FREE!  For more info, click here.

More websites = more views and reviews (duh!)

It occurred to me last week that "Cat's Milk" would get more views if I uploaded it to other sites.  So now it can also be found on ShortbreadStories, Wattpad, and FictionPress.

For ShortbreadStories, "Cat's Milk" had to go through an editor first before it would be shown on the site.  It appeared a few days after, and in just one day, it received 4 reviews, all of them positive!  One of the reviewers was a guest editor for the site, and you can now find on my home page what she had to say.  I also noticed that above the story are the words "This piece has not been edited by the ShortbreadStories team," which means they didn't even have to touch it before it went up.

"Cat's Milk" also appears on Critique Circle, a website for writers to post their story and have others critique it.  As I'm writing this, three people have already given me some helpful advice.  I plan to make some changes to the story, but it will be several years before I publish the new version, as I wish to do so along with my presently non-existent other short stories in a collection.

Looking between all of the websites on which "Cat's Milk" has been digitally published, it currently has had at least 292 views!  That's almost 3x the amount of views I originally hoped for.  Overall, things are looking bright so far.  =)

Blogger has a taste of "Cat's Milk"

In a spout of vanity, I searched for my name on Google and came across a blog by an Emma Wolf entitled "You can milk anything with nipples".  Taht post is about her thoughts on my story "Cat's Milk"!  I am so honored that despite her somewhat negative view of the tale, she nevertheless took the time to write a whole blog entry on it.  Included in the blog is a relevant and funny clip from Meet the Parents, a movie I admit to never watching--though strangely I saw the second one.  After leaving a comment on the page, it looks like she and I are on good terms.
